Trendwatch: Way Wood

Wood is hot! Fashion designers are taking inspiration from the textures of wood grains in their textiles. Furniture designers are going mental for all things wood. “Wood”nt you like to get in on it all?

Wood frames have been in vogue with eyewear designers like Gold & Wood for years, but now more designers have been jumping on the band wagon to bring unique frames to your face. Whether it is a sunglass or an optical frame, wood is an eccentric and edgy alternative to the usual acetate and titanium eyewear that fills the shop.

We love the wood-look designs from Spectacle Eyeworks which are budget-friendly and made in Canada (yay, Canadian design!). These frames are actually acetates, but the treatment of the materials gives it a wood-grain look.

Gold & Wood is still the premium designer of wood frames, creating their collections from environmentally sustainable materials. Whether you desire a full-frame or are going for a more subtle rimless or semi-rimless design, this collection has you covered.

OGA evokes industrial design with their thick wood temples, but retains simplicity with their semi-rimless and rimless options.
