Gaga, ooh la la

What can i say, this piece of art work just makes me wanna sing Gaga songs all day long. It’s a brand new limited edition Mykita model “Yuri”. With its distinctive look and jaw dropping abilities, this is definitely the next faze of fashion. Mykita and Romain kremer teamed up to create the Yuri model. And just to blur the boundaries even further between real life and futuristic technology, the MYKITA & Romain Kremer AW 2010 collection is titled: ‘The Plastic Eating the Natural’. Undoubtedly, this is more of a headpiece then it is sunglass, don’t expect any UVA/UVB protection in the least. Available in two colors, red and black, the MYKITA Romain Kremer YURI glasses will have limited availability. The idea behind these shades is to provide protection for our third eye (the brain). Follow your third eye intuition and purchase this weird, one of a kind head piece.

BLACK FRIDAY-TO STAY OR NOT TO STAY

Sooo…. Black Fridays, you either hate it or love it but you can’t argue with the amazing deals you can get on so many products. Although it’s in the US, we Canadians can’t help but to want to get in on the action. So perhaps you take a day off to get a head start, you drive for 3 hours and sit in traffic only to wait a little longer in the never-ending lines. Canada’s economy seems to be spurring the need for deeper discounts and we also want to support our local, Canadian economy, needless to say, do some research and stay put. You can do all your shopping and running around at the convenience of staying in Canada, eh? Many stores such as Future Shop, Sears, Banana Republic etc, etc…and of course us - Gafas have lots of great deals. So you can still do your shopping and enjoy and full out weekend without being jammed in traffic and stressed out. Deal or deal????

Aliya-Jasmine Sovani @ Gafas

Our girl Aliya-Jasmine Sovani came by last night to grab a pair of vintage frames. She anchors MTV News, so you know she has great taste. After all she actually got to fist pump with the Jersey Shore crew and touched Pauli-D's hair. How did she pull that off. After going through some of the hottest Kings of Past shades she locked down the Paloma Picasso 3711.

Look who came to help out. It's Daniel from the Stereos how was Tony's vino .... he picked out some sick optical frames. Wait till you see it ..

Hmmmm ..... Stereos new album dropping December 14th, http://www.wearestereos.com/

The secret stash .. hidden in a vintage Killy carrying case

I think she has made a decision

Yes she made a decision .... hot.

OUT WITH THE NEW AND IN WITH THE OLD

Wayfarers, wayfarers, and some more wayfarers, the demand is high and contagious for these 1950’s replicas. Cited as the best selling sunglass design in history, it’s been skipping generations with a breeze. Originally designed by Raymond Stegeman in 1952, it’s made a debut almost every decade since then. From Presidents to movie stars, rock stars, artists, fashion designers to runway models, there's not a generation alive that can't remember owning (or wanting to own) a pair of these iconic sunglasses. Featured in popular flicks such as breakfast at Tiffany’s, Risky Business, Miami Vice and many, many more. It’s been a revolutionary 'must have' amongst fashion frenzy individuals.
Since its highest demand started between 2008 until present, many designers have different variations of this shape. Ok...You are adamant to find the original.
If digging through parent’s old glasses drawer in hopes of finding the original wayfarer falls though, here at Gafas expect to find nothing less then the lucrative genuine wayfarer designs. We have models like wayfarer I, wayfarer II, in solid black and various double toned colours. Even the one of a kind (probably doesn't exist any more) wayfarer II sport 1992 Albertville limited edition. So whatever your style, you’ll be sure to find it here.

SUITABLE DESIGNERS FOR small FACES

As a potential frame buyer, you look at all the different criteria's that are out there. Which designer, what colours, what shape, size, plastic/metal...? With all these things to ponder about, the main worry is sizing. Nowadays, there are a lot of oversized frames on the market, which makes the searching experience challenging for people with smaller faces. Why settle for anything less than what you've expected? If you’re unable to find anything that fits, here are some designer suggestions, when looking for that distinguished look. Salt, Lafont, Pro Design and Paul Frank are some of the few lines that have an incredible selection to choose from. They are modern, yet they honour the past.
Searching for a right fitting frame can be a gruesome experience, come to Gafas and let us make your life easier. Here’s a little preview of what to expect!

ROCK ON THIS WEEKEND ON QUEEN ST!!!

As the weekend creeps in and the weather looks promising, we need to let loose and enjoy what downtown has to offer. There is plenty to do on Queen Street, no matter what you’re into. If you feel like letting loose and listening to some live rock music while sipping on a beer, check out 'The Hideout'. Easy going, friendly people and great atmosphere. Another chilling joint is 'Tattoo rock parlour'. It is just as the name implies... a bar plus tattoo parlour, with the same operating hours. Therefore if getting loaded and getting your body inked sounds appealing, than all the power to you! In the mean time, the rest of us can be found head banging to Prodigy, The Killers, Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf, Arctic Monkeys... you get the idea. Regardless the decor is beautiful, music is amazing, the crowd is fantastic and the bartenders are more efficient than many I have come across. Rock on and enjoy the weekend!
